Director, Commercial Strategy
The Director, Commercial Strategy will focus on cost reduction through standardization to deliver class leading reactor cost. They will work with existing Commercial Development and Business Development teams at TerraPower to understand current market trends, develop new suppliers and research innovative construction and delivery methods. They will also work with the Engineering and Design Authority teams at TerraPower to help inform economic tradeoff analysis and lead innovative design, construction and supply chain projects designed to minimize final delivered reactor cost. They will then present key findings to senior management and lead strategic initiatives and supporting partnership negotiations.
Responsibilities
• Research, recommend, and implement cost reduction strategies for Natrium and other TerraPower advanced reactor designs.
• Provide leadership and management of small teams
• Attract, develop and retain team
• Build alignment around key risks, associated mitigation strategies, and contingency planning
• Analyze current reactor market trends and identify high-potential opportunities to enhance long-term customer value.
• Collaborate effectively across functions within TerraPower, ensuring all communication and work align with TerraPower's Guiding Principles
• Work cooperatively with the Commercial Development and other internal stakeholders on strategic reactor initiatives.
Key Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, management, economics, engineering or relevant field.
• 15+ years of related engineering, construction or operations experience required
• Minimum of 5 years of management and leadership experience
• Successful and proven experience with large infrastructure project engineering and construction preferred
• Experience in Energy, Aerospace, Shipbuilding and Oil & Gas preferred
• Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong quantitative background with the ability to provide analytical and commercial support, as well as business and scenario planning for the TerraPower organization.
• Technically astute, with experience collaborating internally with advanced reactor programs and project managers to develop plans, financial models, cash flow scenarios, and identify potential key project delivery partners or external alliances, all in support of commercializing products and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on tasks and teams that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
• Ability to work with minimum direction to solve challenging problems.
• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Job Details
Salary Range Level 13: $194,197 - $279,158
*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
