Network Systems Engineer
TerraPower is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Network Engineer to support our multi-state, multi-site networking infrastructure team. A successful candidate responds to potentially time-sensitive situations with the right balance of expeditious and methodical. Someone who demonstrates integrity, awareness and adaptability working in a diverse team with dynamically shifting requirements would excel in this role.
As a Network Engineer, you will play an important role in designing and implementing commercial and industrial network systems supporting our new construction projects in Wyoming and office and lab locations in Washington state and Maryland. Your primary responsibilities will include understanding business needs from enterprise networking requirements to industrial control systems. You will be identifying the appropriate technologies and systems to meet the need, applying best practices in network architecture, cyber security, and change management.
Responsibilities
· Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks for clients. Networks include business office deployments, research lab deployments, industrial systems deployments and energy plant site deployments.
· Installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting network equipment, or procuring and managing third party resources to provide support and installation effort.
· Availability of all IP transport functions including edge firewalls, SDWAN, LAN/WAN routing and switching
· Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
· Maximizing wireless network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
· Investigating faults in the network and updating equipment
· Reporting network status to key stakeholders
· Produce and maintain documentation of network functions
· Stay up to date with industry standards and network equipment
· Work with a team of IT system engineers and managers to maintain availability of enterprise IT services and infrastructure
· Hardware and Service Provider contract/licensing/support management
Qualifications
· 5+ years of network engineer experience required
· 3+ years with Industrial control system (ICS) networking infrastructure and protocols (DCS/SCADA) experience
· Knowledge of full spectrum of enterprise networking hardware
· Experience with Aruba CX, Palo Alto, National Instruments cRIO or equivalent solutions
· Demonstrated knowledge of Layer2/3 technologies and protocols
· Knowledge of application-level protocols such as SNMP, SSH, HTTPS, DHCP, DNS. 802.1x, IPSec
· Networking certifications - ACSP, CCNP, or equivalent knowledge to be demonstrated
· Ability to build rapport with business partners
· Deadline and detail-oriented

Salary Range Level 10: $ 113,605 - $ 170,408
*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary bands. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
