I&C Engineer

TerraPower, LLC. Is seeking a highly motivated I&C system intern.  This position reports directly to the System Design Manager. Responsibilities include the instrument and control system design tasks under the guidance of supervisor. Your role will also include interfacing with a team of scientists and engineers internal and external to TerraPower. You will also identify, specify, and integrate custom instrumentation with advanced control systems for Generation IV advanced nuclear reactor technologies.

Responsibilities

         Collection and analysis of instrumentation data across the plant such as instrument type, EQ requirements, sensitivity, range, calibration, redundancy, connection requirements, power supply demands etc. 

         Generation of control logic diagrams as assigned by the supervisor

         Responsible for interfacing and supporting electrical system team in the development of calculations for power supply design related to main I&C system including RPS, XIS, RIS, AST and NIC.

         Review equipment vendor’s product information and provide constructive concepts for RIS and XIS vendor selection. 

         Participate continuous learning and application of nuclear industry best practices in order to maintain the highest quality of engineering design and proactively identify process change/enhancement opportunities.

         Integrate I&C with work of other disciplines, engineers, scientists, and subject matter experts.

         Interface with and support licensing activities as needed.

Key Qualifications and Skills

         The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

         Currently enrolled in a Graduate program

         Familiar with MS office

         VISIO drawing skills desired

         Hands-on experience with TCs, RTDs, Pressure transducers, Fiberoptics desired but not required.

         Familiarity with working with and/or developing industrial process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID) desired but not required.

         Experience with CAD software to deliver design deliverables (e.g. AutoCAD Standard, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks), desired but not required.

Graduate: $38.93 - $42.04
