Digital Systems Instrumentation and Control Engineering Inten

 

TerraPower, LLC. is seeking to hire with a highly capable and motivated Digital Systems Instrumentation and Control Engineering Inten. This position reports directly to the Manager, Non-Safety I&C - EIC. In this role, you will act as an Intern Digital Instrumentation Engineer for Sodium Fast Reactor technologies Natrium Team, with possible interfaces and support to other associated nuclear technologies such as fast-spectrum, and Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) technologies. You will lead and be responsible for I&C Digital I/O Data Collection which involves gathering and filtering data, handling missing values and preparing the dataset for evaluation to ensure accuracy, compatibility and interface alignment. You will interface with scientists and engineers internal and external to TerraPower to navigate Input/Output, internal and external interface data sets for digital instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, Hardware, Software, and Firmware used in Generation IV advanced nuclear reactor technologies.

 

Responsibilities

 

·     Developing and managing spreadsheets.

·     Gathering, querying and cleaning data from various sources.

·     Analyzing datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and holes.

·     Providing actionable insights to guide decision-making.

·     Using statistical techniques to analyze data and forecast trends.

·     Identifying and implementing data integrity checks.

 

Key Qualifications and Skills

 

·     The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

·     Candidates should have experience working with industrial data sets, diagnostics, and demonstrated ability to audit, inspect review, verify, and validate data points related to I&C platforms, applications, integrated systems, generate applicable reports and communicate data misalignment finding to the data owners.

·     Strong background in development and managing databases are often used in mission critical industrial applications.

·     Previous experience with nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation systems designs desired.

·     Familiarity with design control and development in accordance with nuclear power plant quality assurance (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1).

·     Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.

·     Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.

·     Candidate must be a self-starter and possess ability to coordinate with a team with minimal direction on tasks and activities.

·     Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.

Undergraduate: $22.65 - $29.65

Graduate: $40.43 - $43.89

PhD: $43.89 - $51.71
